Gulf News subscribers live the good life

Set of 3,000 vouchers represents savings from 1,000 outlets

Dubai: Gulf News subscribers are saving on their bills as they are taking full advantage of the latest Gulf News subscription offer, "Good Living."

The "Good Living" offer consists of a set of five books that offer savings through 3,000 vouchers from over 1,000 associates partnering in this scheme.

The subscriber gift-voucher scheme was launched in September and runs until December 31.

Readers shouldn't delay in subscribing — the earlier they subscribe, the sooner they can save.

Ms Das, a subscriber since 2005, has used almost 40 vouchers since September, and is particularly keen on using the vouchers related to shopping, restaurants and spas.

"My spouse and I love eating out, and the vouchers are very helpful because it reduces our spending costs. The vouchers also tell me about new outlets that I did not know about before," she said.

Treating guests

Das added: "It is a brilliant concept because I used the vouchers when guests visited and we were able to offer them a free night's stay at a hotel, as well as free facial and spa treatments."

The Gulf News annual subscription costs Dh400, which is what all renewing and new subscribers pay, but it immediately qualifies them for a multitude of benefits. Lucy Hay, a mother of one, said: "I have used two so far but my problem is that I forget to take them with me.

"I will probably use a lot of them around Christmas time while I shop for presents and it is definitely a good way of saving."

Akash Lakhani, an 18-year-old pupil, said he plans to use the vouchers with his friend for ordering takeaway meals.

"It makes sense to use the vouchers because my friends and I only get a weekly allowance from our parents, so it helps a lot because we can get a 30 per cent discount on meals," said Lakhani. "The vouchers are a lot like having the yellow pages, because [the book] gives out the telephone number of restaurants and a description of the types of food they offer."

The subscription vouchers include a variety of offers related to all aspects of good living, which range from dining out to recreational activities, in addition to health, beauty and shopping outlets in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates.

The vouchers are available in five books — Taste, Savour, Play, Unwind and Shop. All of the books are enclosed in an attractive gift pack and are valid until September 30 next year.
