She was faultless. The power and emotion in Celine Dion's vocal ability came shining through from the moment she began her first Middle East concert in Dubai on Wednesday.
Singing all the favourites in an up-beat, modern stage show, Dion jumped from new to old, complemented by more than 20 professional dancers.
The power in her unique voice was more apparent than ever as she battled above the screams, claps and cheers from an enthusiastic front-of-stage gold crowd.
And to be fair, the venue, the Four Seasons Golf Club, was extremely elegant and very fitting for such a stylish songstress as her tones echoed from the main club house out into the audience.
Choreographed and directed by the hottest director and choreographer in the world of pop music - Jamie King, a multiple Emmy Award and MTV VMA (Video Music Award) nominee - the fans were not left disappointed.
All in the family
Accompanying her on her five-day trip to Dubai are her husband Rene Angelil, 7-year-old son Rene Charles, mother, and two sisters.
Performing in front of more than 12,000 fans, organisers pulled out all the stops in order to help the event flow as smoothly as possible with shuttle buses to and from the venue.
As always the minority who are not certain of what follows the letter 'P' in the alphabet, managed to ruin it for the hundreds who lined up patiently to be transported back to their cars at Dubai Festival City.
It wasn't long before arguments broke out and security staff from Ask International Security seemed incapable of controlling the situation.
The selfish minority walked straight past the people who actually knew what manners were, and proceeded to flag down buses and fill them before anyone knew what had happened - leaving the polite people standing for up to two hours after the concert.
Celine Dion was performing in her Taking Chances tour which kicked off in South Africa last month. The tour comes after a five-year stint in Vegas at the world-renowned Caesar's Palace.
Your comments
I have to Admit, Celine Dion was amazing. I love how she started the show off with 'I Drove All Night'. My favorite part of the show was when she sang all of her power ballads from the 90's. Growning up in the states exposed me to all of her ballads. It was so nice to sing along to one of the most successful female artists in the world. I cant wait to see her at the end of the year in the states! A 5 star concert. I wish she didnt do a lot of covers towards the end. Overall I loved it!

I attended the concert last night at Four Seasons and would comment as follows
1 Parking - Excellent
2 Transportation to venue - Excellent
3 Food - 1 hour before the concert started food choice consisted of Nachos, Nachos or Nachos. So much for the large selection of food at the venue
4 Venue - very bad. In fact this is too nice a statement. Due to sound towers and mixing desk seating (standing) was in a few select spots. Even then it was almost impossible to see the stage and had to rely on watching on screen so I could have saved myself standing for 90 minutes and bought a video insted. In fact the stage was not high enough and however decided not tho provide a granstand obviously should not be entrusted to manage such an event in the future.
5 Performance (Video) - Very good
Finally best venue in UAE is Emirates Palace ok it is 90 minute drive away but at least you can watch a performance.

Celine showed a really bad performance and like always the event was totally disorganized. Like always long queues for the beverages.

Celine is one of my favourite singers by far. she was astonishing, however the planning of the fied wasn't exactly what we were expecting, though the organization as a whole was ok.
We trully hope she would come back again with even more songs.
Celine was a beauty, a real diva. her movements on the stage and her playfull act made us mesmerised at all times at her.
