Al Ain Zoo offers visitors opportunity to watch how animals behave during cooler evenings
Al Ain: With the weather getting tough in the daytime, Al Ain Zoo has launched evening hours to enable visitors to experience the night-time zoo in cooler conditions.
The change in operating hours will start from June 1 and the night time zoo will be available to visitor between 4pm to 10pm up to September 30, said a spokesperson of the zoo.
It will offer the visitors opportunity to watch animals enjoying the cooler evenings as they would naturally in the wild, after resting during the heat of the day," she said.
The popular bird show will take place at 7:30pm during weekdays and twice on Fridays at 6:15pm and 7:30pm. Family Nights for the recreational and educational experience will be on every Wednesday. During Ramadan, family nights will be discontinued and the zoo will be open from 6pm to 12 midnight.
Starting at 6pm on the specific day, the family night will be a fun-packed evening of children's sports, games, a bouncy castle and cartoon movies. A range of ten different sports will be on offer, including golf, football, volleyball, and more to keep children active, said the spokesperson.
All exhibits, she said, will be open during the summer evening hours with various feedings scheduled leaving the animals energetic and lively for night-time visitors. The visitors will also be able to enjoy a special parrot show at the Zoo's education centre at 5:15pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
The zoo will also have henna, arts and crafts, and face painting for more harmonious and creative activities. Cartoons will be screened at the picnic area near the train station at 8pm on a 6m x 4.5m wide screen.
Saif Al Daheri, Manager Admissions and Guest Relations at Al Ain Zoo said: "The summer offers a different and exciting way to experience the zoo and we look forward to welcoming our enthusiastic summer visitors once again."
