Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is making access to its services easier for residents living in Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR).
The authority has opened a new a customer service centre in the neighbourhood to offer a convenient means of personally accessing a series of services ranging from vehicle registration and renewal of licences as well as parking and Nol related services.
“It’s handy to have a RTA centre in the neighbourhood as it offers vital services. The closest centre we had before this is at Al Barsha, this is going to definitely help people,” said Sami Awad, a resident of JBR.
The centre, located at Marjan Complex in JBR, serves a busy neighbourhood encompassing clusters of residential and office towers as well as malls and tourism hotspots.
“We are not intending to deliver ordinary services to customers, but are rather endeavouring to realise the excellence in service delivery as pursued by Dubai Emirate. To achieve excellence, we have to simplify customer procedures, and cut short the time needed to process transactions in keeping with the highest international standards,” said Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of RTA, after inaugurating the centre, which is touted to be the best in its class.
Densely populated areas
Al Tayer reiterated RTA’s commitment to provide best-in-class services to customers in an express manner and reaching out to customers in densely populated areas, or popular destinations for tourists and visitors in implementation of the directives of High Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The centre, which remains open from 8am to 8pm, is part of a series of service outlets the RTA aims to open as part of its plan to reach out to customers in densely populated areas.
Among the unique features of the JBR service centre is an electronic kiosk that a customer can access 24 hours a day.
