Families have option to move to new villas

The local government in RAK announced on Monday the distribution of new villas for Emirati families who decide to move from the industrial area of Khor Khowair to the new residential area in Southern Al Dhaid.

Ras Al Khaimah: The local government in RAK announced on Monday the distribution of new villas for Emirati families who decide to move from the industrial area of Khor Khowair to the new residential area in Southern Al Dhaid.

Speaking at a press conference, Mubarak Ali Al Shamsi, the Director General of the RAK Municipality said it is the free decision of Emirati families to move from the industrial area of Khor Khowair and Saliya to an area with better environmental standards.

"The residents of Khor Khowair and Saliya are totally surrounded by industrial establishments and it is time for them to decide about the hazardous risks and take advantage of the emirate's proposal," he said.

Transfer

Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ras Al Khaimah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler has advised concerned authorities to facilitate the transfer of families that decide to make the move.

Al Shamsi said the government is providing suitable villas for families who want to move into modern residential areas which include all the necessary facilities.

"A total of 50 new villas have already been constructed and are ready for families to move from the industrial areas," he said, adding that the villas were constructed on 4,200 square feet at a total cost of Dh700,000, and each villa has two floors and can be expanded.

Al Shamsi called on the beneficiaries to approach the municipality and submit their official documents to receive their villas and move from the industrial areas.
