Women's conference ends on emphatic note
A final communique issued at the Arab Women's Organisation evaluated and analysed the different aspects of human security through the six sessions of the conference, along with issues that touch upon building social awareness to back women rights, adopting women liberation concepts in the positive cultural Islamic heritage and confronting policies that push women aside in society.
Abu Dhabi: A final communique issued at the Arab Women's Organisation evaluated and analysed the different aspects of human security through the six sessions of the conference, along with issues that touch upon building social awareness to back women rights, adopting women liberation concepts in the positive cultural Islamic heritage and confronting policies that push women aside in society.
The conference also discussed the empowerment of women in all aspects of society, especially in the political field, and enabling women to make use of technology and communications.
In the light of these principals, the conference recommended the following points in its final communiqué:
Opening a dialogue with the International Commission Human Security to attract attention to the Arab vision towards women's human security and including her in the international interactions of this concept.
Finding a research reference for women's human security in the Arab world and instituting clear indexes for measuring it.
Elevating awareness in International Human Law and spreading its culture and relation to women, while finding the suitable tools for application.
Connecting the Arab Women Organisation strategy and establishing its dimensions in well organised policies and programmes.
Devoting the Women Media Strategy towards establishing the concept of human security for women.
Her Highness Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of UAE General Women's Union and Chairwoman of Arab Women's Organisation, said, "I am confident that what we have achieved through this conference will strengthen the cooperation among us, and will constitute a fundamental and important addition to the achievements of Arab woman."
The conference also discussed the empowerment of women in all aspects of society, especially in the political field.
