Saudi scholar urges Muslims to shed negative attitude
Muslims should stop complaining and start paying more attention to the positive developments happening around them, a Saudi scholar told a Ramadan Majlis on Wednesday night.
Abu Dhabi: Muslims should stop complaining and start paying more attention to the positive developments happening around them, a Saudi scholar told a Ramadan Majlis on Wednesday night.
Having a strong self-esteem and a positive outlook on life that is granted by God is conducive to achieving happiness and success, Dr Salman Bin Fahd Al Dkhail told the majlis (gathering) of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
"Sometimes it seems as if many Muslims live in a culture of negativity. They seldom acknowledge the things that go right. And obsessing about their own challenges and conflicts only adds to that dark and negative cloud," Al Dkhail said, urging these people to "clean out the negativism."
Faith
Believing in the Divine Wisdom in creatures, plans and incidents should be much more than believing in your views and ideas, Al Dkhail argued, and that all that is created and planned by Almighty Allah is good, come what may.
"It takes Allah a blink to change your life entirely. Muslims have clear guidance from Allah and His Final Prophet (PBUH) on all aspects of life. This goes hand-in-hand with the Islamic belief that God does not leave human beings without guidance in their daily lives - thus His guidance is all-encompassing," he said. He urged Muslims to grab opportunities stemming from technological advancements.
Shaikh Mohammad's majlis is part of gatherings traditionally hosted in the UAE and other GCC member countries by rulers, prominent personalities, community leaders and community members.
