Pakistani stars to perform in Dubai
Pakistan community members in the UAE will be treated to a grand musical and cultural show on the occasion of their country's Independence Day on August 14.

Dubai: Pakistan community members in the UAE will be treated to a grand musical and cultural show on the occasion of their country's Independence Day on August 14.
Top Pakistani singers, film and television stars are coming to Dubai to perform at the concert titled Jashn-e-Azadi.
"We are bringing top artists to perform in the show which will provide an opportunity for the Pakistani community to watch their favourite artists performing live in Dubai," said Syed Imad, managing director of Dream Advertising, the organiser of the show.
Prominent artists who will perform at the show include Umar Sharif; Abrarul Haq, Jawad Ahmad, Naghmana Jafri, Megha, Huma Khawaja and Veena Malek.
Crowd-puller
"Apart from the national songs to suit the Independence Day celebrations, top singers like Abrarul Haq and Jawad Ahmad will present their popular songs while there will also be cultural dance performances by other artists," said Imad.
He said the show was a gift to the community who are away from their homeland as it has been designed to provide a range of entertainment to suit the spirit of Independence Day celebrations.
Pakistani flags will also be distributed free of charge at the show.
Giving details about the artists, Imad said that Abrarul, who shot to instant fame with his song Billo is a hot favourite amongst Pakistanis and is keeping the spirit of Punjabi music alive. All his albums topped the charts in Pakistan. He is believed to be a great crowd-puller.
Jawad Ahmad, another top singer, gained popularity with the release of his first album in 2000. His all-time hit song is Allah Meray Dil Kay Ander (God is in my heart).
Comedy king
Umar Sharif, who is known as a comedy king in Pakistan and abroad, became popular after his first Urdu stage play Bakra Qistoon Pay was released in 1985.
He is still ruling the comedy scene in Pakistan and is equally popular in India.
