Khalifa gesture draws wholesome praise
The importance of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's gesture to invite religious scholars to deliver sermons and lectures during Ramadan in the UAE has been emphasised by Hamdan Muslim Al Mazroui, the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Awqaf Chairman.
Abu Dhabi: The importance of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan's gesture to invite religious scholars to deliver sermons and lectures during Ramadan in the UAE has been emphasised by Hamdan Muslim Al Mazroui, the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Awqaf Chairman.
The remarks were made by Al Mazroui at the Abu Dhabi National Theatre when he introduced cleric Abdul Samad Al Samadani, one of the guests who hails from India.
Al Samadani's lecture was attended by thousands from the UAE's Indian community.
He noted that the tradition of inviting religious scholars to deliver lectures during Ramadan "was a legacy of the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan."
