Expert advice for Zayed National Museum
The British Museum will provide expert advice on the development of the Zayed National Museum following an agreement signed with the the Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC).
Abu Dhabi: The British Museum will provide expert advice on the development of the Zayed National Museum following an agreement signed with the the Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC).
It will also serve as a consulting partner and will advise on design, construction to educational and curatorial programming as well as training. The Zayed National Museum is scheduled to open in 2013 as the cornerstone project of the Saadiyat Island Cultural District.
The 12,000 square metre museum will recall the life and values of Shaikh Zayed (1918-2004) and will explore the history and culture of the UAE.
The Museum will have an ensemble of permanent galleries in which visitors will be introduced to five themes of Environment, Heritage, Unity, Education and Humanitarianism.
The architectural design of the Museum is by Foster and Partners, London. It will be unveiled in Abu Dhabi later this year.
