Dubai: How do you fancy running up all 52 floors of the Emirates Towers?
The organisers of Vertical Marathon 2007 are hoping to recruit more than 150 UAE residents to do just that in aid of charity.
The event on May 25 will raise cash for humanitarian organisation Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF).
The record for running up all 52 floors, 1,334 stairs or 265 metres, is less than eight minutes. But enthusiasts, as individuals or a team, can register either as a competitor or non-competitor.
"The last Vertical Marathon was a success, raising more than Dh75,000 with the pledges of participants, enabling all profits to be used by our missions in different parts of the world. Let's try to make this one even bigger," said Chrystel Kidwell of MSF.
Sponsorship
Participants need to fill in a sponsorship form or can make a pledge of minimum Dh500. Enrolment begins at 7am on May 25 on the north side of the Emirates Towers Boulevard.
For more information, log on to www.msfuae.ae or ring MSF on 04-345-8177. The minimum age for participants is 15 years.
