Brigadier Salim Saleh Al Junaibi, Director of the Medical Services Departments at the Abu Dhabi Police, said the preventive system for combating H1N1 was part of a procedure package circulated to physicians and nurses.

Al Junaibi said the measures taken by the medical services department in combating the H1N1 virus, and ways of prevention, include the distribution of brochures and lab detecting substances to the police labs.

Major General Obaid Al Hiri Al Kitbi, Deputy Commander of the Abu Dhabi Police, said the development of healthcare in the UAE and the abundance of hospital and medical care centres, in addition to an improved level of health awareness, builds a wall against the disease.

He added that the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi police department work together to translate the vision of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, through adopting awareness initiatives and campaigns.

Dr Hanif Hassan Ali, Minister of Health, also emphasised that the cooperation with all the Ministry of the Interior's different departments is extremely important in containing the spread of the virus in the UAE.
