The inspectors have already seized the product from several outlets, Saeed Jasem Mohammad, Acting Director of Communication and Community Service at ADFCA, said in statement.
The inspectors of the Authority conducted intensive inspections during the past two days to look for the product and seize it if found. The product is being distributed in the UAE by Aujan Industries Company.
The seizure of the product was initiated following a statement from the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water. "Samples of the product from Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region have been brought by the inspectors and sent to the laboratories for further tests. In the meantime, inspections are still ongoing to make sure the markets in the emirate are free from the contaminated product," he said.
He told Gulf News that the safety of the consumer is a line that nobody should be allowed to cross.
