Dubai Two more medical fitness centres will open in Bur Dubai and Deira this year to make it easier for expatriates to access them for their work or residence visa renewals.
The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) said today (Thursday) that there is a big demand for medical fitness tests in these two districts of Dubai.
The centres provide the mandatory medical fitness tests which are compulsory for all expatriates for the issuance or the renewal of their employment, residence or student visas.
Maisa Al Bustani, Director of Medical Fitness at DHA said there are currently 16 medical fitness centres located across Dubai. "This (the two new ones) will help further streamline our services," she said.
Over the past two years 950,000 expatriates have used the medical fitness services. The fast-track VIP services were used by 94,000 people, the DHA said.
It costs Dh 260 for a medical fitness report. For a report within 48 hours the cost goes up a Dh 100 extra and Dh 200 more for urgent test results within 24 hours.
The DHA also have a door-to-door medical fitness facility known as Tawajud. This service is a fast-track one and useful for companies. Medical staff will visit the office or home of the individual and give results on the spot. At one time, a maximum of 70 employees can be tested. Since the launch of this service 9000 individuals have taken advantage of this fast service.
