A 30-year-old pregnant Asian woman died due to H1N1 infection, but her baby was delivered through a C-section and is in good health, the Ministry of Health announced on Sunday.
Abu Dhabi: A 30-year-old pregnant Asian woman died due to H1N1 infection, but her baby was delivered through a C-section and is in good health, the Ministry of Health announced on Sunday.
This brings the number of people who died in the UAE due to the H1N1 virus to two.
The Supervisory Committee to Combat H1N1 held a meeting on Sunday, chaired by Dr Hanif Hassan, Minister of Health and Chairman of the Committee, to discuss the plan for government and private schools.
The meeting also discussed workshops for teaching staff and medical teams in schools, as well as the plan for Haj and Umrah, which will be reviewed in the next meeting to be approved by the committee.
The importance of coordination and cooperation with the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Awqaf in the Haj and Umrah plan was highlighted. It includes intensifying awareness campaigns on safety guidelines.
