The Department of Economic Development on Wednesday approved yet another price hike of cocking gas cylinder: a 22 kilogram cylinder will now be sold in Ras Al Khaimah for Dh95 (earlier it cost Dh91), whereas the 11 kilogram cylinder will be available for Dh47 (earlier it cost Dh43) and the bigger 44 kilograms will be sold for Dh190 (earlier it cost Dh182).
Ras Al Khaimah: The Department of Economic Development on Wednesday approved yet another price hike of cocking gas cylinder: a 22 kilogram cylinder will now be sold in Ras Al Khaimah for Dh95 (earlier it cost Dh91), whereas the 11 kilogram cylinder will be available for Dh47 (earlier it cost Dh43) and the bigger 44 kilograms will be sold for Dh190 (earlier it cost Dh182).
Angry residents said they have to suffer the official price hike and an unofficial one decided by the gas dealers.
Residents complained that a normal cylinder (22 kilograms) is currently sold in Ras Al Khaimah for Dh100. They said gas dealers do not stick to the price list released by the emirate's Department of Economic Development.
Families, restaurants, cafeterias and other commercial outlets have been complaining to the department, which held its meeting with representatives of gas companies to approve another price increase.
Hamad Al Shamsi, the department's Deputy Director, said the new monthly price list was approved following the meeting with officials of the gas companies and that the emirate-based gas dealers should stick to this price list and never to charge their customers more.
