Dubai: In a drive to make the UAE Government one of the best governments in the world, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has launched the Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Government Excellence Programme.
The launch of the programme comes in line with the policies of the UAE Vice President to identify talented and local cadres to further train them to incur responsibilities efficiently.
In the presence of Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Cabinet Affairs Minister, Shaikh Mohammed adopted a number of programmes and incentives to affect the Shaikh Khalifa excellence government award. He stressed the importance of the programme to boost performance and excellence at the federal level.
He said the excellence would be achieved through creative initiatives based on scientific methodology and adoption of the world-class best practices.
Shaikh Mohammad underscored the need to spread awareness about the concept of government excellence and encouragement of continuous education, enhancement of public services, transfer and swap of expertise among public institutions on one hand, and the local and international institutions on the other hand.
He emphasised the need for empowerment of the UAE nationals in the federal government to be capable of holding responsibilities of public work at different public institutions.
The Vice President announced the programme would include, among others, Emirates Award for Government Excellence Performance, which is the highest award for the institutional excellence at the federal level, as well as orders, which will be bestowed by Shaikh Mohammad on distinguished employees.
