Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs (MSFNCA) organised a field visit for a delegation of 120 female students to the Federal National Council headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

The student leaders came from prominent universities around the world including the USA, UK and Germany as well as Africa and Asia.

They were accompanied by 50 UAE national students who were assigned to the delegation members as their local counterparts.

The visit was arranged in collaboration with the Dubai Women's College and aimed at familiarising international students with the UAE and its political modernisation process.

This initiative falls under the Ministry's mandate to spread awareness and develop a participatory culture in the UAE.

The students were introduced to the parliamentary system of the UAE and the processes followed in the FNC sessions.

Tarek Lootah, Director-General - MSFNCA, said: "This initiative highlights the Ministry's commitment to enlighten youth about the importance of political participation in the development process of the UAE. It further aims at strengthening communication between the community and youth as they are the future of this nation."

He added: "The FNC is playing a key role by opening its doors to delegations from around the world to come and witness the progress in political modernisation that the UAE is successfully undergoing".
