UAE Minister Nahyan Bin Mubarak hails efforts to develop Arabic language

Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Community Development has hailed the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and his initiatives in the area of developing the Arabic language and empowering it as one of the important pillars of the country’s national identity.

Shaikh Nahyan also spoke during his meeting with the delegation of the committee tasked with modernising the methods of teaching the Arabic language on Tuesday, about the importance of languages in communication between people and states

He also outlined the fact that this leads to removing fear, misunderstanding, and contributes to establishing the principals of peace and getting acquainted to others between different nations.

He added that Western Universities have become more interested in the Arabic language as a live language throughout the wide Arab world and also referring to the Western Universities’ interest in Arabic Language, which is expanding gradually and continuously .

Shaikh Nahyan made these remarks, in the presence of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and other Shaikhs.

Shaikh Nahyan was briefed on the report of the commission, which included recommendations for developing the Arabic Language’s teaching and education, methodology and approaches. He was also briefed on the work performance of the committee which has been appointed by the cabinet to promote Arabic Language.

Nahyan hailed the efforts of Shaikh Mohammad in the area of developing the Arabic language and empowering it as one of the important pillars of the country’s national identity.
