Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on the occasion of Ramadan, has ordered the release of 116 prisoners who have served half their jail sentences and shown good behaviour at Sharjah’s correctional and punitive establishments.
Dr Shaikh Sultan’s clemency reflects his interest in enabling the released inmates to be reunited with their families as well as his commitment to all members of the community.
Major General Humaid Mohammad Al Hadidi, Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police, thanked Dr Shaikh Sultan for his generous initiative. He expressed the hope that the initiative will urge the pardoned inmates to begin a new life with good behaviour.
