Shaikh Hamdan praised the role played by the UAE Armed Forces in defending the homeland
Western Region: Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Western Region, praised the role played by the UAE Armed Forces in defending the homeland and protecting its achievements under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Shaikh Hamdan made his remarks when he attended the closing celebration of Emirates Castle 2013 military exercise, which was conducted by the UAE land, air and naval forces at the Western Region on Wednesday. The exercise was carried out using sophisticated weapons and live ammunition.
Upon his arrival, Shaikh Hamdan was received by Lieutenant General Hamad Mohammad Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces. Shaikh Hamdan was then briefed on the military exercise’s programme, phases, units and formations.
Shaikh Hamdan said that the UAE Armed Forces was receiving the full support and attention of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Shaikh Hamdan said officers and personnel of the UAE Armed Forces had shown high capabilities and efficiency in performing the war drill.
The Emirates Castle military exercise is one of a series of training activities carried out by the UAE Armed Forces. The exercises aim to unify joint military work and training in the fields of planning and execution of joint operations between the forces. The exercise also aims to enhance the capability of the Armed Forces, its weapons and formations to protect the nation’s sovereignty and stability as well as being constantly ready to deal with any potential threats.
