President holds talks with Azeri leader

President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday held talks with the visiting Azeri President Ilham Aliyev.

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan yesterday held talks with the visiting Azeri President Ilham Aliyev.

They reviewed bilateral relations and explored ways to further bolster economic, investment and tourism cooperation in the best interests of the Azeri and UAE people. Shaikh Khalifa and President Aliyev discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern.

President Aliyev expressed his country's keen interest in developing economic and investment relations. He praised the progress the UAE had made in all areas.

President Aliyev expressed his delight at his visit to the UAE and meeting with Shaikh Khalifa. He said it was an expression of a keen interest to firmly establish bilateral cooperation and coordination for the benefit of the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Shaikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential Affairs, Ahmad Juma Al Za'abi, deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs and Azeri Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

Shaikh Khalifa hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the Azeri President and the accompanying delegation.
