Abu Dhabi: Shaikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth, and Community Development and Chairman of the Higher Committee for the 42nd National Day celebrations, approved yesterday the schedule for celebratory activities prepared by various committees and local authorities.
The activities are scheduled to begin this week, and will focus on highlighting the landmark achievements of the UAE under its wise leadership.
Shaikh Nahyan said that the celebrations this year will witness participation on a broader scale from official bodies, departments, federal and local authorities, private sector companies, citizens and residents.
Shaikh Nahyan praised the efforts exerted by all those who worked on preparing the schedule for the celebratory activities, which was planned according to a strategy that focuses on reflecting the importance of this event. He also praised the programme planned by the UAE Armed Forces, especially the air show planned to take place at the Abu Dhabi Corniche.
Shaikh Nahyan said that such a large-scale participation from authorities, citizens and residents reflects loyalty to the UAE and its wise leadership. He added that celebrations for National Day, which is held in such high regard by citizens and residents, will continue until December 2.
Shaikh Nahyan emphasised that all segments of society should participate in these events in order to achieve the desired goals of these celebrations. He added that participating in these celebrations highlights the glorious achievements accomplished by the founding father of the UAE, Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Shaikh Nahyan stressed the importance of highlighting to the current generation the comprehensive development achieved by the UAE, and informing them about the different stages and phases of present achievements under the leadership of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.
