Mohammad tells ministers to regulate workforce
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, called on the GCC labour ministers to formulate plans that serve GCC labour market, help to achieve national interests and improve the living and working conditions of workers.

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, called on the GCC labour ministers to formulate plans that serve GCC labour market, help to achieve national interests and improve the living and working conditions of workers.
Shaikh Mohammad made the call after the 23rd GCC labour ministers meeting, which concluded in Abu Dhabi yesterday.
Shaikh Mohammad underlined the importance of workers' dignity and human rights as well as improving their quality of life.
Shaikh Mohammad welcomed the ministers in the presence of Dr Ali Bin Abdullah Al Ka'abi, Labour Minister. He affirmed his full support to their efforts.
Shaikh Mohammad called on the labour ministers and authorities concerned in the GCC countries to regulate the workforce and help workers to develop their skills and protect their rights.
Shaikh Mohammad stressed the importance of safeguarding labourers' rights regardless of race or religious backgrounds.
Referring to the instructions handed out to Dr Al Ka'abi to ensure the rights of expatriate workers, Shaikh Mohammad called on other GCC countries to benefit from this experience. He expressed confidence in the quick implementation of his instructions.
Shaikh Mohammad also called to step up individual and group efforts in giving jobs to nationals and train them, so as to meet the requirements of the private sector.
The ministers praised Shaikh Mohammad for his humanitarian initiative and recommendations to improve the living and working conditions of expatriate workers.
