Mohammad site wins top award
The official website of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has won the award for 'Best Website' in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa at the Vignette Excellence Awards.
Dubai: The official website of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has won the award for 'Best Website' in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa at the Vignette Excellence Awards.
The awards are presented annually to customers who employ Vignette technology to deliver the web's most compelling and useful online experiences.
Among Vignette's global customers, Shaikh Mohammad's official website was chosen as a shining example of how governments, corporations and other institutions can use video and multimedia content to create powerful and effective web destinations for citizens and internet users.
The website received the award for creating an engaging web platform with a wide array of up-to-the-minute video, video archives, photo libraries and rich internet content highlighting the Emirate of Dubai and Shaikh Mohammad's many interests and activities.
The Vignette Evaluation Committee said that Shaikh Mohammad's official website has pioneered the use of multimedia technology in the region, and consistently experiments with new ways to communicate with and inform citizens, internet users and the global audience.
Ahmad Abdullah Al Shaikh, Media Escort to Shaikh Mohammad, welcomed news of the award, which reflects the impressive performance of the website's staff, saying that the award is an incentive for them to continue to strive for excellence at the Media Office of Shaikh Mohammad.
