Ministry discusses licensing, use of chemical materials
The committee for the listing of chemical materials held its second meeting at the Ministry of Interior.
Abu Dhabi: The committee for the listing of chemical materials held its second meeting at the Ministry of Interior.
The meeting was attended by representatives of different departments in the ministry. It was headed by Brigadier Abdullah Ali Rashid Al Budaiwi, the Ministry of Interior's deputy director of the Criminal Security Department.
During the meeting, participants discussed the findings of the working committee tasked with listing chemical substances.
All the departments participating in the meeting presented a detailed explanation of the procedures taken regarding the licensing of chemical substances.
The names of companies manufacturing as well as importing and trading in chemicals were put forward in the meeting.
The first meeting of the committee was held on June 9 and discussed the setting down of the executive's list of mechanisms embodied in Federal Law No. 3 for 2009 that was issued by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan in relation to weapons, ammunition and explosives.
Discussions also touched on the setting up of appropriate mechanisms to control chemicals. All liable departments were required to contribute to these.
