Khalifa restructures executive council
President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, two decrees restructuring the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued, in his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, two decrees restructuring the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has been reappointed Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, under the first decree, while the second decree names the members of the council.
The decrees were issued in line with Law No. 1 for 1974, which stipulates that the Abu Dhabi government body shall be restructured once every two years.
Shaikh Khalifa also issued a third decree tasking Dr Ahmad Mubarak Al Mazroui, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Health Authority and member of the Executive Council, with running the affairs of the Civil Service Department.
Al Mazroui has also been tasked with supervising the transfer of the department's specialties and employees to the General Secretariat of the Executive Council and other authorities to facilitate phasing out of the Civil Service Department within a maximum period of six months from the decree's date of issuance.
New council: Mohammad to chair
General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has been named Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council. The other members are:
- Shaikh Saeed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan
- Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan
- Shaikh Diab Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority
- Shaikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court
- Shaikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan
- Shaikh Mohammad Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Finance Department
- Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saif Al Nahyan
- Shaikh Sultan Bin Tanoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority
- Mohammad Ahmad Al Bawardy, Secretary General of the Executive Council
- Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority
- Rashid Mubarak Al Hajeri, Chairman of the Municipal Affairs Department
- Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the Finance Department
- Nasser Ahmad Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Planning and Economy Department
- Abdullah Rashid Khalaf Al Otaiba, Chairman of the Transportation Department
- Ahmad Mubarak Al Mazroui, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Health Authority
- Major General Obaid Al Hairi Salem Al Ketbi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police
- Mugheer Khamis Al Kheyali, Director General of Abu Dhabi Education Council
