Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan remains committed to boosting the performance and role of the security and police forces to safeguard the country's security interests, a top official said.

General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said the UAE is keen to preserve its regional and international reputation as a peace-loving country that strives to uphold human rights, a culture of tolerance and peaceful existence among all peoples of the world.

Integrated system

"A completely integrated security system in place to keep pace with [any] developments is the foundation of our country's security and stability," Shaikh Mohammad said yesterday when he received Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior, and top security and police officers, in the presence of Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister.

Shaikh Mohammad praised ongoing efforts to further boost the performance of the security and police services, which he said were always seeking to improve their performance under the command of Shaikh Saif and other senior officers.

He urged security services and police to put in greater efforts to maximise their performance and to maintain a rapid response capability that could face up to challenges and developments posing any kind of threat to the UAE.

He called on all security personnel to stay dedicated and true to the interests of the country and the people.

Present at the meeting were Lieutenant General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Interior Ministry Undersecretary; Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief and other senior officials.
