Health Minister to face Council query
The recurring errors in the medical sector will come under the spot light on tomorrow at the Federal National Council as the members question the Minister of Health Humaid Al Qutami.
Abu Dhabi: The recurring errors in the medical sector will come under the spot light on tomorrow at the Federal National Council as the members question the Minister of Health Humaid Al Qutami.
The minister will be answering questions on the mistakes committed by medical practitioners in the country and his ministry's procedures to rectify them.
Members of the FNC will also question the Minister of Social Affairs Mariam Al Roumi on the new measures of the social assistance programme and the social security.
The meeting's agenda also includes discussion of three draft laws on the federal budget of 2009, the establishment of the National Centre of Statistics and the 2009 budget of the federal electricity and water authority.
The FNC will also discuss the federal decree on the cooperation agreement with France, aimed at developing the UAE's nuclear energy programme for peaceful purposes.
Human trafficking
Another decree to be discussed by the members is the UAE's joining the international convention to stop human trafficking.
The members will also discuss a draft law on the adjustment of the salaries of the Prime Minister, his deputy and the ministers.
Consulting: FNC meets panels
The Federal National Council's temporary committee to study emiratisation in the public and private sectors held a meeting yesterday in the presence of Ahmad Humaid Al Tayer, chairman of the board of trustees of the National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia).
The committee discussed emiratisation with concerned bodies, which were invited to the meeting, and listened to their remarks and discussions before reaching a conclusions.
