Sharjah: The Sharjah Statistics Centre on Saturday started making an inventory in the first phase of the census survey of UAE nationals in the emirate.

Data collected will be kept confidential
This follows the directives of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to create a database of nationals living in the emirate.
The comprehensive social and economic survey seeks to provide demographic, economic and social data. The government will use the data to improve living standards.
The first phases of the survey covers UAE nationals. Residents will be covered under subsequent phases. Detailed information about population, social, health, education and economic status of every family will be noted. On his part, Shaikh Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al Thani, Director-General of the Sharjah Statistics Centre, said the information will be kept confidential.
He added that the centre has the systems to protect the data, adding that the data will not be published in any official statistical bulletin.
