Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday attended a government leadership programme at Dubai Festival City.

Shaikh Mohammad listened along with more than 40 employees, including five senior police officers and Ohoud Al Roumi, CEO of the Prime Minister's office, to a lecture by Yves Doz, Professor of Business Policy at INSEAD Business School.

The four-day programme is organised by the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and is aimed at developing leadership and management skills of government leaders to achieve the main goals of government strategy.

Shaikh Mohammad thanked the lecturer and underlined the importance of the government strategy to be implemented, and its need for national leaders and cadres.

He said he was personally following the activities of the programme, which is keen to building national leaders capable of bringing about change and development within federal bodies and departments.

Shaikh Mohammad highlighted the negative impact of bureaucracy that prevailed in departments and ministries earlier, and stressed the importance of eliminating bureaucracy and its negative impacts on their performance.

"I am sure that you have the potential and capabilities, which you need to develop and use through such programmes provided by your leadership to bring out your hidden talents."
