Abu Dhabi: A new journal for strategic studies and interpretation of the UAE vision for development was launched this week. The Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) has officially inaugurated the first issue of the Strategic Visions at a ceremony at the “Emirates Palace” in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
Diplomats, academics, journalists and intellectuals from the UAE and the GCC attended the event along with guests from different parts of the world.
“The ECSSR has interpreted the UAE vision and President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s wish for the country to be leading scientifically and the Strategic Visions will be a gateway towards knowledge and an impetus for the UAE youth for research,” said Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
Dr Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, director general of ECSSR, said that the journal will be the UAE’s gate towards high quality of knowledge, science and research for the region which will help accelerate sustainable development processes, politically, economically socially and in the prospects of security, and to be a good model for regional and international cooperation to serve the security and stability, peace and prosperity for the peoples of the region and humanity.
Al Suwaidi said: “We look forward to contributing to this magazine in a culture of scientific research in our researchers in the UAE and the region and across our people.
Al Suwaidi said the magazine is a scholarly periodical published quarterly by ECSSR, focusing on political, economic, legal, social, media and security issues, including applications of information technology in the study of the humanities.
The content reflects serving the community by supporting the development of academic research and education through the publication of rigorous, strategic studies in various fields, ECSSR said.
Studies are subject to strict publication standards, and are undertaken by outstanding academics and researchers from the UAE, the GCC, and beyond, the centre added.
Strategic Visions publishes research contributions in Arabic from all academics, university professors and researchers specializing in politics, economics, law, social science, media, security and IT applications.
