Dubai Municipality attains Dh2.1b budget surplus
Nine programmes for rationalisation of expenses were applied, says official
Dubai: A rationalisation of expenses helped the Dubai Municipality attain a budget surplus of Dh2.1 billion in 2011.
Abdul Karim Julfar, Assistant Director General, Dubai Municipality, said the civic body applied nine programmes for rationalisation of expenses which saved Dh245 million while four programmes in the field of income developments saving Dh328 million.
The overall benefits helped the municipality save Dh 693 million, contributing to the budget surplus.
Among the initiatives that contributed to the savings were e-services and zero visit initiative.
