The new department, which will report to the court of the Dubai Ruler, is tasked with developing an integrated human resources strategy for the Dubai government.
Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has established the Dubai Human Resources Department under decree number 31 for 2009.
The new department, which will report to the court of the Dubai Ruler, is tasked with developing an integrated human resources strategy for the Dubai government. It will set up a governance framework, and update systems and human resources practices in public institutions.
The fifth article in regard to the department law, has delegated it to set policies, strategic plans pertaining to the development of human resources to execute and follow up the Dubai Strategic plan.
In a related development, Shaikh Mohammad issued another decree appointing Amal Mohammad Bin Udai, as director-general of the Human Resources Department.
The decree will be published in the official gazette and becomes effective from the date of issuance on November 1.
Amal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from the University of Kuwait and a business administration MA from the American University in Dubai. She also participated in the Mohammad Bin Rashid Programme for Young Business leaders as well as many other government programmes and conferences related to government strategic administration of human resources inside the UAE and abroad.
She has participated in human resources applications and initiatives in the Government of Dubai.
She has worked at the Ruler's Court as the director of human resources.
