Abu Dhabi council approves budgets
The Abu Dhabi Executive Council (ADEC) held on Thursday its weekly meeting, presided over by General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Executive Council (ADEC) held on Thursday its weekly meeting, presided over by General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
During the meeting, the council discussed the issues on its agenda, including projects and memoranda referred to it by a number of local departments and agencies.
The projects relate to developing government services and improving the Abu Dhabi government performance.
The council approved the 2008 budget of the Abu Dhabi TV sports channel presented by the Abu Dhabi media company.
A department of municipality affairs memorandum requested for an additional budget for the municipalities of Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region, in order to implement the 2008 strategic plan.
Expansion
The council also approved bids for a number of projects, including the overhead bridge at Baniyas east, the expansion of Shaikh Rashid Al Maktoum Road from interchange 40 to interchange 49.
It also approved a project proposed by the Abu Dhabi sewerage services company for the construction of a sewerage system in the Shawamekh, Shahama, Bahiya and Al Sadr areas, as well as the completion of the phase 3 of the sewerage system in the Al Falah and Al Shamakha areas.
The projects relate to developing government services and improving the Abu Dhabi government performance.
