Brazilian football legend Pele visited the UAE in 1982 as an official guest at the opening ceremony of the sixth Gulf Cup football championship in Abu Dhabi
Brazilian football legend Pele visited the UAE in 1982 as an official guest at the opening ceremony of the sixth Gulf Cup football championship in Abu Dhabi.
In the final leg of the tour, Pele visited Dubai where he was literally besieged by school children on a trip along the Creek in a dhow.
Pele first visited the country in 1973 when his club Santos played an exciting match against Al Nasr Club in Dubai.
