- Snakes such as this have repeatedly showed up in areas such as southern Al Dhaid, Al Kharran and Al Jolan in Ras Al Khaimah.
Ras Al Khaimah: A group of workers killed a venomous snake, which attacked them in their workshop in Al Rams area.
Panic initially gripped the five Indian workers when they saw the snake slither into their aluminium shop.
They then chased the snake and clubbed it to death.
The snake was believed to have come down from a mountain next to the industrial area in Al Rams.
The Emirati owner of the workshop, identified as A.A., urged municipal authorities to act on the problem as snakes abound in the area during the summer.
A senior municipal official said that they are aware of the problem.
The official said the Ministry of Health has already instructed all departments concerned to be aware of the situation and be ready to respond to snake-bite cases. Hospitals and clinics were also provided with antivenom.
