Abu Dhabi: UAE nationals represent 15.1 per cent of all blood donors, which makes them the largest number of blood donors among different nationalities, according to the Abu Dhabi Blood Bank (ADBB).

ADBB has reported collecting 10,000 units of blood since the beginning of 2008.

On the occasion of "World Blood Donor Day 2008", Shaikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC), managed by Cleveland Clinic, will take part in the national blood donor programmes in building a stable base of voluntary unpaid donors who make a long term commitment to blood donation.
