Dubai: Sudanese President Omar Al Bashir arrived in the UAE Sunday on a three-day visit.
The UAE's state-run news agency said the visit was an important phase in efforts by the two countries to further bolster bilateral relations.
The two countries are expected to sign a number of agreements on social, economic and humanitarian cooperation.
Trade has increased, and there is a rise in UAE investment in Sudan.
Relations have also improved since the early 1990s when the UAE expelled the Sudanese ambassador and six other diplomats. The two countries have since restored ambassadorial ties.
