Dubai: Seventy young men and women took part in a seminar designed to assess the development of the participants of the promising Leaders Programme organised by the Mohammad Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD).
This programme was launched to develop future national leaders capable of promoting the sustainable development of Dubai.
The promising leaders programme aims to consolidate the skills and knowledge that have been imparted in the various program components organised by (MBRPLD).
The two-day activity was held as a follow-up session to the Leader in You workshop organised by (MBRPLD) to give the participants an opportunity to be engaged in high-level presentations and discussions of concepts that affect individual leadership styles.
Developing leaders capable of achieving sustainable development in a global city like Dubai can' t be achieved in a short period of time.
The leader in you workshop is built behind this concept, which is why the activities in the workshop are focused on developing specific skills and expertise of the participants.
The follow-up session is an excellent way to ensure that the learning process does not end at the conclusion of the workshop. From our experience in handling leadership development programs, participants are better able to absorb the new concepts and ideas presented to them when post-workshop sessions are incorporated into the whole training process, said Adel Al Shared, director of (MBRPLD).
The leader in you workshop provided tasks to be accomplished by groups, while there were also activities designed for individual participants.
Speakers at the workshop offered techniques to help participants raise self-awareness, create personal vision and value system, and establish personal role and goals. There were also discussions on special topics, including live by my strength and manage my development areas, and the power of acting now.
