Search and Rescue Team participates in international drill

Abu Dhabi: The UAE Search and Rescue Team (UAESRT) held a preliminary drill as part of its preparations to move to the heavyweight category as set by the United Nations International Authority for Search and Rescue.

The drill is part of Abu Dhabi Police preparations to deal with natural disasters, particularly earthquakes, following the last one that started in Iran and caused tremors across the UAE.

Teams from GCC countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, also took part in the drill, which took place at the UAESRT’s campsite in Abu Dhabi.
