Abu Dhabi/Dubai: Eid Al Adha prayers were offered on Friday at the Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Grand Mosque in the nation's capital amid calls for solidarity and adherence to Islamic teachings and values.

Ali Al Hashimi, Adviser at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, stressed in his Eid sermon the importance of adherence to Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) legacy, which was delivered on the same day in history on message and values of Islam.

He noted that by celebrating Eid Al Adha, "we remember the sacrifice of Prophet Ebrahim and stressing the real themes of solidarity and sacrifice."

Across the Emirates, residents are celebrating the Eid Al Adha holidays, converging on the many parks, public places and green spaces amid cooler temperatures that have signalled the start of winter.

Children could be seen playing outside, while families had barbecue, played football and games and just enjoyed spending time together as a family.

It is only during such occasions that many of us get a chance to be with friends and familys to share this glorious occasion of Eid. I was so excited after finishing my work on wednesday that i have 3 days holidays and i was soo thrilled . at times some of us dont know what to do for these 3 days as we might have a lot of things to finish one by one but this time we had a lot of guests at my place, i went shopping after a long time and just enjoyed my self taking a nap after those long hours of work . I m now all set to get ready for work tomorrow .wish we get more holidays like this.
