Residents can seek help from Tourism Police

Abu Dhabi: UAE nationals and residents have been urged not to hesitate in asking for assistance from the Tourism Police when needed.
Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Darwish Al Qamzi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Police Tourism department, also called upon the public to abide by the law and and respect the traditions of the country, while keeping their neighbourhoods safe.
Efficient
Al Qamzi stressed that Tourism Police personnel are highly efficient and eager to help at all times, especially during holiday periods.
He added that they work throughout the day to ensure safety for everyone, while giving directions to tourists and, in general, making a good impression of the UAE.
The Tourism police also coordinate with embassies in the region to contribute to making the UAE a successful tourist destination.
He pointed out that the department intends to increase security for tourists in Abu Dhabi and added that they continuously follow up on new developments taking place in international tourism.
Priority
High security and safety standards are a priority for the Tourist Police, he said, adding that the department coordinates with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, as well as other relevant departments in the emirate.
They work with the Community Police Department in a number of ways.
They also organise patrols on the streets, keeping Abu Dhabi safe at all times for tourists and residents alike. They work with the Community Police Department.
