Ras Al Khaimah residents in sweat over daily power disruption

Ras Al Khaimah: Residents have been suffering from repeated power cuts in several areas and have called on the authorities to end their suffering.
Electricity has been cut off daily in areas including Al Dhait, Khuzzam, Julfar, Shamal and Al Ma'amourah. Residents have complained they cannot endure the hot and humid weather without power.
Power cuts have been reported in these areas at different times of the day, and whenever they happen residents start calling the Federal Electricity and Water Authority (Fewa).
Suffering
Residents said most of them have been forced to move to the houses of friends and family to spare themselves suffering in the heat, especially those with children.
They urged the authorities to take the matter seriously, especially as the weather is now so hot.
Meanwhile, sources here said the problem these areas have been facing was not local, the main power generator which feeds other northern emirates was affected and that the reported power cuts were caused by this power generator.
