RAK restaurant penalised over expired chicken
Eateries keeping equipment outside face fines
Ras Al Khaimah: The civic authorities have penalised a restaurant here after mun-icipal inspectors seized two cartons of expired chicken.
Municipal officials discovered the two cartons of chicken past the expiration dates during an inspection campaign.
The consignments were destroyed and the shop was also issued an official warning. Repeat offence would result in closure of the outlet.
The official stressed that a heavy penalty was imposed on the violating restaurant, and an official warning was issued for it.
The municipal authorities also warned restaurants which kept some of their equipment such as grilling machines outside their premises or on pavements blocking the path of pedestrians.
The restaurants were ordered to keep all the equipment inside their premises only.
