Ras Al Khaimah: The Department of Economic Development on Tuesday seized poor quality domestic utensils on sale.

A senior official at the department said those utensils, including forks and ladles used in cooking, could be pose health risks.

The official said the department received a complaint from an Emirati, who purchased these items but in few days the colour of these products changed and were rusting.

The Emirati customer took the warranty card and the fake items to the department. Inspectors investigated the issue and found that some domestic appliances and utensils sold in the markets were of poor quality, and the warranties issued were fake.

The shops were issued official warning.
