Love finds all forms, but one such relationship was the result of technology. Ana M. C. Parreira, a Portuguese national residing in Lisbon, Portugal and Hamid Ahmadshah, an Afghan residing in Dubai, found each other on an Indian matrimonial website and began their journey of love.
In October 2008, Ahmadshah sent Parreira an e-mail and asked to be friends. Parreira almost declined the request, but destiny did not allow it.
After a month of chatting online, Parreira planned on visiting Dubai. However, Ahmadshah had to travel to Kabul, Afghanistan and the chances of the two of them meeting seemed vague.
On Parreira's last day in Dubai, she received the call that she had been waiting for impatiently - Ahmadshah had returned and wanted to meet.
Spending three hours in front of the mirror seemed enough for Parreira, as she got ready for the meeting of a lifetime. The couple met in a mall and within a few hours, Ahmadshah said: "I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Three months of courtship and five hours together made Parreira and Ahmadshah dream of their own 'happily ever after'. They are currently planning their future together.
