Dubai: Youngsters must break down their mental barriers and constantly challenge themselves to achieve more, a senior official said yesterday.
Speaking at a leadership development programme, Youth in Action, Khalid Al Kamdah, director-general, Community Development Authority, said it is the barriers we put before ourselves that limit our achievements.
"If we think of our goal as graduating, for instance, we are limiting ourselves and focusing very narrowly."
Rather we should broaden our horizons and think of the bigger picture, he said.
"Youngsters are the future of our country. Collectively, the 200 million plus-youth in the Middle East can contribute much," he said, adding it is important to think of what can be accomplished by working together rather than individual efforts.
