Dubai: The Central Bank has issued an amended Dh200 currency note.
The note, which has been reprinted with new security features, will be put into circulation as legal tender on Tuesday, May 27.
The bank has adopted advanced technical specifications and incorporated up-to-date security marks to "improve and enhance the quality of its currency issues".
The Central Bank distributes notes in denominations of Dh5, Dh10, Dh20, Dh50, Dh100, Dh200, Dh500 and Dh1000.
A new combination of colours has been incorporated into the note so that it becomes orange instead of brown.
An optically variable stripe showing the national emblem of the UAE has been added to the front of the note.
A coffee pot and value numerals design has been incorporated beneath the watermark.
The watermark appears in the form of a falcon's head. It becomes visible when the note is viewed against direct light.
A silver security line can be seen on the back of the note. When the note is viewed against direct light, the light is seen as a continuous dark line with 'UAE 200' appearing as a light text.
A new overlap feature is added on the front of the note in the form of a printed circle containing a falcon's head to the left-hand side of the watermark.
Additional security elements are added, which can only be seen under ultraviolet light.
