SEWA don't ask us to pay any bil for these suffering days, SEWA should feel shame. From monday mornign 10.20 am we are staying without electricity and Water. Where is their humanity. No one take necessary steps. Please see our pain. We are fraustated. Give electricity alteast for few hours. Please do something to give electricity for the Area where the electricity more than two days electricity has not come. please...For everybody's suffering SEWA has to answer. It is not to write pay the EB bill with 7 days, give us also electricity for at least fews hours. we are desparately waiting for the electricity to come back for at leadt for few hours from the past two days.

I am living in Sharjah near Al-Mujurah near Durwaish Musjid. There is too much problem regarding power electicity. Power off duration at 8AM to 4PM then 9PM to morning 3:40AM. We have Family but what we do??? Authorities shuld be notice these problemsss reagrding electicity and remove this problem as soon as possilbe

Gulf News!!! My Salutes to you. I am resident of Sharjah facing and experiencing these power cuts and seeing your newspaper i understood the severity and the extensivity of the trauma and pain suffered by the residents. Its sad that after all these years SEWA had not done anything to solve this, Shame! I send my family back to my country after experiencing the trauma a month back and now i feel that what i have done is right!!!. Thank You once again for talking for the helpless people who can only suffer all this in silence.

I am staying in Buhaira Corniche area in Majaz and we experienced a power cut from 12pm -9:15pm yesterday for a 2 bedroom flat for which I am paying a rent of 60k. Conversely, it is a shame that empty flats and offices in the tower next to my building were lit up in darkness when the whole city was sweltering in the heat due to power cut. This building has offices/flats which are vacant for months and are wasting electricity 24hrs.

I stay in Abushagara, Tuesday early morning 1:30 to 4:30 there is no power in and surrounding buildings, same day in the evening 4pm to 9.30pm again power cut. It is very difficult to stay with family. During office hours family cannot go any where, i came around 7pm and took my family into my car up to power restores @ 9.30pm. gk

I think by switching of the street lights in Sharjah from 10pm to 5am will save a lot of power and by that the duration of these power cuts can be reduced.

I am staying in National paint area, near UAE exchange. In this area power went on Monday around 10.30 am and it was not restored till 11 O' clock Tuesday night. Really it was a heart breaking sceen that families with their small children were wandering here and there and spending time in Cars and all. In such a peak Summer, power cut without any prior information is very difficult for the residents and I here by request the authorities to provide a time table/schedule for power cuts so that people can atleast adjust accordingly.

it was 1 am in yesterday night the screeming sounds of the childrens every where from difrence buildings around my building in naba area because the power went off at 7:30 in evening and restore at 3 am .it was second time in a day after a 8 hours power off from 8 am to 3 pm and just after 3 hours again 8 hours load sheding .i requested to sewa please distribute the area and have a one or tow hours load sheding so it will not pain full .

We were burning our fuel while roaming on the Roads for almost eight Hours during night (electricity went off from 08:30 Am to 4:30 PM and again from 07:30 PM till morning 03:30 AM..Its not an agony its been an absolute bad services & support given to us by SEWA ...where we don't get any updates & response of this issue & complaints, Its really awful to see small Kids crying & exhausted..please resolve this issue.

salaam, today i was shocked to see this kind a power cut i mean what is this straight 9 hours in the morning then evening 6 to 3am morning oh my god, my wife is pregnent, how much time we can spend in malls and out side home.. i have to go to work just after 3 hours , sharjah SEWA shuld have to do some things ..

I AM A WORKING MOTHER STAYING IN AL NAHDA SHARJAH. AFTER 12 HRS OF MY NIGHT DUTY I CAME HOME AT 0830 AM & STARTED SLEEPING AT 0900HRS. AFTER 10 MTS THE THE POWER CUT OFF.2 SMALL CHILDREN & OLD MOTHER AT HOME WAS BITTERLY CRYING OFF HOT. I AM STAYING IN 12TH FLOOR & MY LIFT ALSO IS NOT WORKING. WITH OUT SLEEPING I AM RESUMING TODAYS NIGHT DUTY. IF THE AUTHORITIES HAVE A MERCYFUL HEART THEY WILL DO SOMETHING AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.

I live in Industrial Area 11 forunately we have power since yesterday 9.00 am , the building opposite to us has power cut of more than 36 hrs . This is not a joke . Due to the power cut the resident are suffering, SEWA has to take the responsibility. In 2009 the power cut was for the first time SEWA should have learned from thier mistakes.

Its also sad that a strong daily like `Gulf News` too can`t find the exact reason for this horrifying cuts which has been continuing for years. SEWA charges AED 70/- as service charges on each bill every month.. Is this the service they offer??? How can they keep poor citizens struggling like this ? SEWA, when will u wake up to this situation.......

Just One Request.....Give us a schedule on the power outage. I sincerely ask Gulf News to help people in these situations, by sensationlising this issue and also try to get us a schedule. our hands are tied.

Most of area in sharjah has power cut from Morning but industrial Area 2 the power went on Monday morning 10.30am and till now not came, we suffering more than 27 hours untill now i don't know when this power will come back in industrial Area 2, we cannot sleep for the whole night and bound to go for work. Child and elder person more suffer in this power cut. If you visit Industrial Area 2 or Caterpillar Round boat Area in night people are sleeping in Street. 27 hours huge suffer. Altest they can give power supply for Industrial Area 2 for 3 to 4 hour so we can sleep but SEWA became avoiding our sufferings. Please atleast for some hours give us electricity. for past 27 hours no electricity and water in our building. we are human need electricity to supply. SEWA please give electricity for little time in our Area so people can fresh them selfs. Don't cut continous electricity for more than 27 hours. please.........

ITS REALLY REDICULOUS, MY BABY WAS CRYING THROUGH OUT DURING POWER CUT AT NIGHT. PLEASE CONSIDER WE ARE HUMANS. AFTER A LONG DAY WAORK WE NEED SLEEP TO GET EARLY IN THE NEXT MORNING. WHY SEWA IS DOING LIKE THIS IN VERY HOT SUMMER TIME. I CANT UNDERSTAND, I NEVER EXPECT SUCH A EXPEREINCE HERE.

this is untolerrable, that to soo long power cut without any reason. they sh thing 100 time b4 cutting the power, coz in dis heat is vry difficult to stay in the room after coming tired frm work place.

There is power failure in Al Nahda Sharjah. Power is not there from 10 am onwards. Kids are there and we are in office .. dont know how to manage this. Its making our life difficult. Authorities please consider this as a serious issue. regards vinu

Till when my innocent daughter will suffer for this kind of situation. Early this morning I heard the babies crying in our building because they couldnt sleep. Their mom have to come out from the corridors to make them sleep.We have lot of frozen stocks in the fridge all of them are spoiled. How about those families who stayed at home especially the babies? You think this is right? what is happening now is unacceptable and unexplainable. You cannot even find the answers why this things happened. july and august is the most hottest month how could you leave people to stay without electricity?

Sewa people dont understand that in some areas there has been no power from Sunday onwards and how families abd kids will survive and people who have factories to run and have daily very heavy overheads for staff and etc and have commitments to there customers, as its very difficult to make earnings,

Our building in the begining of Industrial area 4, where previous Mother Cat Round About used to be ( Bin Kamil Building ) was with out power from about 9.30 am on Monday to 7.50 am on Tuesday ( 20/07/10). The power cut timings should be declared earlier for each area which can reduce the inconvenince of the people as they can plan out accordingly.

We dont have power on 18.07.10 of 9:00am -8:30pm then again on 19.07.10 of 9:30am to 20.07.10 till we went for work still no power. Im leaving in 2nd signal behind city centre sharjah k3 industrial area 1, why the SEWA didnt make any action they should know how to distribute the power specially on this situation that to much hot and they should return the power specially evening. I have 1+ year old baby and the other one is only 1 months & 2 weeks baby this to much difficult for us not specially for our 2 kids because they are too young and i call SEWA hotline to ask when the power return they will answer you nonsense like the other area had power or they dont know why the power cut off or maybe "inshaalah"...

Thanks Gulf News for highliting this issue I am living Abushgara Al Naily tower I think bulding conection is taken from industrial area Monday 11:00AM power gone and Tuesday 5:30 AM (around 20Hrs) I came for duty still power was not there hole night my all family passed by rooming here and there and early morning I came for duty without sleep I do not now what I want to leave Sharjah as soon as posibale but my contrect is up to December 31/2010

This is absolutely ridiculous. There is no prior warning for these power cuts and a lot of people are suffering. It doesn't matter whether the power is cut during the day or night, it has to be communicated to the people living here for them to at least re-arrange their lives as there are many people working in sift patterns as well. When the power is gone, it is total cut off as the lifts in the buildings are not working and there is no water. What shall we do with our small kids? Will our companies willing to allow us off-duty because we had no sleep? What is SEWA doing with the additional money they are charging from us? It is true that we are from other countries where power cuts are normal sometimes during every year. But, the situations in those countries are totally different to UAE and we don't expect this type of condition here. Even in those countries, they schedule the power cuts and prior notice is given so that people are well aware of the situation. This is totally unacceptable in a country like UAE. Very sad to see this happening.

We did not have electricity the whole day on 25th and it came only on 26th in the morning. I reside in the Abushagara area. On 25th When i passed through Al wahda stree to return home it was completely dark, no street lights too. Our entire area was in darkness. We were lucky enough to have realtives where we could spend the night. I was deeply sad to see mothers with children and familes below the bldg at around 12midnight since the heat inside could not be tolerated. Also near the second hand car mkt they were parents with infants in prams looking desperate because of the trouble faced. Its high time the authorities take serious measures and not make the residents suffer in this heat where children have got school/ exams and many are working class individuals. Yesterday(26th) there was no water too in our bldg. After many phone calls the water prob was solved.

I am a sharjah resident since more than 6 years. SEWA should work on power purchase agreement from other emirates, readers should note that other emirates(Dubai & Abudhabi) have the excess power, why SEWA, not working for purchasing power from other emirates. Electricity charges are higher at Sharjah than other emirates (There are no service charges in Dubai, Abudhabi). If this is economical Sharjah need not wait for building power plants etc.

Why doesn't the planning authority take into consideration SEWA's capacity to cater to the much visible ongoing construction of brand new towers in Sharjah, when there is acute shortage of supply. Agree that new buildings are very much essential and a requirement to cater to the growing demand; also agree that the profits are huge for the landlords; but it does not have to be by this method of distorting the daily life of the already miserable people, who stay in Sharjah since they are not able to afford the higher rents in Dubai. These expats spend 2-3 hours daily, commuting apart from the daily 9-10 hour job. And finally after reaching home, they have to climb the stairs, cook in the dark, possibly not have water and sleep in the heat. Where has the increase in unit charge for SEWA and the minimum service charges squezed from all the tenants in Sharjah gone? don't they have the responsibility to provide service atleast considering value for money. The government of Sharjah can see that the maximum capacity possible from SEWA is so many Mega Watts, which is required to cater to the existing population. Further expansion projects would require infrastructural development. This way I feel India is much better where they have a systematic load shedding, scheduled for Half an hour daily, since there is a very large population to cater to. Hope the SEWA authorities do plan and avoid causing disharmony to the residents of Sharjah.

First of all i m very greatful to Gulf News to bring the pathetic condition of sharjah residents in front of whole world through their paper.I stay in sharjah near safiya park al majaz3.Yesterday we faced around 6hrs of power cut from12.30pm to3.30pm again from 10.30pm to 1.30am.I thought we were in most terrible condition but today morning when i came to know that several other areas are suffering a lot more i was horrified when i read other peoples woes .I deeply sympathise with them especially the families in industrial areas.We don't know when the concerned authorities will work out a solution I would like to request the authorities to consider us atleast think about the kids.How can they be so inhuman and let this condition cotinue since a year.Please we are humans but i think theSEWA authorities have forgotten that so they turn deaf ears to our requests.

pls note that there are many other areas which are not mentioned here, which i personally know had the same power cuts in the daytime, in the afternoon and also in the evening..and the worst that now also at present the power is interupted in Nabaa, Butina,Majarra, Al Sharq, and other areas near to this district (Al Sharq district) For your kind info and action if possible.. tks and Regards.

I stay in Sharjah Industrial Area-3 and there has been a big issue of power here. First it went off at 23:50 on Monday, was restored at 04:40 on Tuesday then again it went off at 08:30 on Tuesday and was restored at 05:00 on Wednesday. It agaiin went off at 09:35 on Wednesday and there is no power uptill now. We have small kids, what are we suppose to do...?? If SEWA has a power shortage problem, it should chalk out a schedule for load shedding and plan accordingly. They shouldn't cut off power of some selected localities. All are human beings and need equal treatment, I suppose.

Ind Area 3, Monday night gone at 12 came Tuesday morning 5, then again OFF at 8 AM then came only on Wendesday morning 5! and again now gone at 9 AM! now what is next !! what we have to do? without power and water how people survive.
